What do the WELS believe?
WELS exists to glorify God by upholding, defending, and proclaiming the truth of the Holy Scriptures as expressed in the Lutheran Confessions. WELS also provides congregations and their members with the tools needed to expand their God-given mission of sharing the gospel through both word and sacrament.
These efforts include:- Joint Mission Initiatives: Collaborating on projects at home and abroad to extend the impact of our gospel proclamation.
- Training of Called Workers: Equipping individuals for service in ministry to ensure they are thoroughly prepared to spread God’s Word.
- Support for Gospel Applications: Coordinating resources and encouragement to foster spiritually healthy called workers within vibrant congregations and schools.
