About Our Podcast

The Purpose of This Podcast

Why this podcast? Simply put, we want to bring women together around God’s Word—the Bible, his inerrant and inspired Word. We want this to be a place where we can gather as sisters in Christ, open our Bibles, learn together, and encourage one another in our walk of faith.

In 2 Timothy 3:16, we are reminded that “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness.” What a precious gift God has given us in his Word! As we spend time in Scripture, we come to know our Savior more deeply, discover his guidance for our lives, and grow in a closer, more intimate relationship with him.

Our hope is that each conversation will encourage you to open your Bible, dig a little deeper, and discover for yourself the promises, comfort, wisdom, encouragement, and life-changing truth found in God’s Word. Most of all, we pray that as we study and learn together, we will grow closer to our gracious Savior and be strengthened to proclaim God’s saving grace to others.

Follow us on:

As Lou Ann delved into God’s Word, her insights and reflections coalesced into Bible studies specifically focused on women.

These studies, including Esther: Providential Persian Queen, Mary: Providential Earthly Mother of God, and the upcoming Deborah: Providential Prophetess and Judge, are designed for both individual and small-group use. Each book comprises short lessons that feature opening prayers, readings from both the Old and New Testaments, and thought-provoking discussion and application questions.

In Lou Ann’s travels to encourage women to study God’s Word, she has encountered a common sentiment: many women express a desire to gather around Scripture but feel uncertain about how to teach or are intimidated to initiate or coordinate a study. This podcast is designed specifically for them.

Podcasting is a powerful tool provided by God to spread His message. It offers easy access, is often free, and can be listened to at any time—whether alone or with a group of women. Each lesson will be available as a separate podcast episode, allowing listeners to follow along in the accompanying book or simply grab their Bibles. The flexibility of this format enables participants to pause and engage in discussions as desired.

Sisters Exploring the Word’s website is now live. This platform provides quick links to Lou Ann’s podcast episodes, information on purchasing the books, and a blog filled with enriching resources for those seeking to deepen their understanding of God’s Word. Lou Ann also shares recommendations for other authors’ Bible studies and books.

Lou Ann invites everyone to join her in exploring God’s Word together. By filling hearts and minds with His precepts, participants can witness the unfolding of His presence in their lives.

As a disclaimer, Lou Ann is not formally theologically trained. In matters of doctrine, she relies on God’s Word and guidance from her Pastors, as well as her affiliation with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS).
