Blog by
Sisters Exploring the Word

How can a young man keep his way pure?
By living according to your word.
I seek you with all my heart;
do not let me stray from your commands.
I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you
Praise be to you, O LORD;
teach me your decrees.
With my lips, I recount
all the laws that come from your mouth.
I rejoice and following your statutes
as one rejoices in great riches.
I meditate on your precepts
and consider your ways.
I delight in your decrees;
I will not neglect your word. Psalm 119: 9-16 (NIV)

This psalm was likely written by a pious Israelite as a “vehicle for priestly instruction in godliness.”

The Purpose of Our Blog

This blog (like the psalm) will explore the many ways we can immerse ourselves in God’s Word and rejoice in the great riches it will yield.

Here you might find:

  • A section of Scripture, followed by a meditational thought.
  • Links to resources that have been valuable to me in my writing and teaching.
  • Book or movie reviews centered on God’s Word.
  • Links to other women’s Bible studies.
  • “Sister focus,” spotlighting a woman, maybe from Scripture, a contemporary or a historical figure who, through her life, exhibited godliness.
  • Stories surrounding best-loved hymns or contemporary songs.
  • New technology to keep you connected to God’s Word.
  • Methods for memorizing God’s Word.
  • Ideas for beginning or refreshing your prayer life.

The options are endless, and we welcome your ideas for our blog. Please enter your email using the link below to subscribe.  Alternatively, you can casually surf this website on your own.
