About Our Podcast

Sisters Exploring the Word podcast is hosted by Lou Ann Mokwa—a devoted servant of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The purpose of this podcast is to unite women as we gather around the Bible, the inerrant and inspired Word of God. As stated in 2 Timothy 3:16, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness.” We believe that immersing ourselves in His Word is the only way to truly learn about God, allow Him to guide our lives, and foster a deep, intimate relationship with Him.

With over five years of experience teaching women at the Ladies’ Bible Study at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waupaca, Wisconsin, Lou Ann has had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the transformative power of Scripture. As she prepared lessons and explored God’s Word, Lou Ann was continually amazed by the profound impact it can have on our lives. This revelation has ignited her passion to encourage other women to experience that same transformative effect through the study of God’s Word.

As Lou Ann delved into God’s Word, her insights and reflections coalesced into Bible studies specifically focused on women.

These studies, including Esther: Providential Persian Queen, Mary: Providential Earthly Mother of God, and the upcoming Deborah: Providential Prophetess and Judge, are designed for both individual and small-group use. Each book comprises short lessons that feature opening prayers, readings from both the Old and New Testaments, and thought-provoking discussion and application questions.

In Lou Ann’s travels to encourage women to study God’s Word, she has encountered a common sentiment: many women express a desire to gather around Scripture but feel uncertain about how to teach or are intimidated to initiate or coordinate a study. This podcast is designed specifically for them.

Podcasting is a powerful tool provided by God to spread His message. It offers easy access, is often free, and can be listened to at any time—whether alone or with a group of women.
